Zumio is a Canadian brand of clitoral stimulators that rotate rather than vibrate. Its patented SpiroTip circles in tiny loops, and you control the intensity with how hard you press.

Clitoral stimulators with a rotating SpiroTip instead of whole-body vibration, plus a travel cap, a charging stand and a pleasure guide |

Why choose Zumio Zumio stimulators do not buzz like a vibrator. A tiny SpiroTip rotates in small circles, much like a fingertip. The harder you press, the slower and deeper it feels, so your hand controls the intensity. The design is patented in the US, Australia and Canada.

About Zumio
Zumio Inc. is based in Ottawa, Canada. The company says it began in 2013 as a design-led engineering team, after earlier work on health monitors and other hand-held devices. After about two years of research and testing, it launched the Zumio X in 2016.
The range grew to include the S, E and i. Zumio says it reached Europe and Asia in 2018. Adultsmart spoke to Zumio’s leadership early on, in our 2017 interview with then-CEO Veronica Farmer.
Each model is named after a woman, with nicknames Xena, Sadie, Ethel and Iyana. Kevin Bailey, now CEO, and Olga Reimer are named as inventors on the SpiroTip patents.
How SpiroTip works
Most clitoral vibrators shake the whole device. Zumio moves only the tip, which rotates in tiny circles like a fingertip. Press lightly and it spins fast for quick, bright sensation. Press more firmly and it slows down for deeper, more intense stimulation. That means your hand sets the pace, alongside the speed buttons.
Zumio models
Each Zumio model has a different tip shape and feel.
Pinpoint stimulators
Zumio X, nicknamed Xena, was Zumio’s first model, launched in 2016. Its firm tip rotates in an elliptical path for pinpoint stimulation, with energy that runs along the stem to the tip. The X2, nicknamed Xara, is the newer version of the same design. Both suit people who like strong, focused sensation in one exact spot.
Precision stimulators
Zumio E, nicknamed Ethel, launched in 2020. It has a narrower tip on a rigid stem for focused, precise stimulation. The E Ebony is the same design in black. It suits anyone who wants close control and finds broad vibration too much. Start gently, as the slim tip concentrates the feeling.
Soft-tip stimulators
Zumio S, nicknamed Sadie, has a softer, silicone-covered tip. It spreads the rotation over a slightly wider area, which gives a gentler feel than the X. It suits sensitive users and warm-ups before a more intense finish. Many people also use it on the nipples or around the clitoral hood.
Spoon-tip stimulators
Zumio i, nicknamed Iyana, launched in 2021. Its spoon-shaped tip rolls across the skin in waves rather than a single point. It won a Silver A’ Design Award, designed in partnership with Design 1st. It suits people who like a broader, building sensation that can be slowed or sped up with pressure.
Choosing your first Zumio
If you love strong, exact pressure, start with the X or X2. If you are sensitive or new to clitoral sex toys, the soft S is a gentler choice. The E suits people who want precision without the X’s intensity. The i is best if you prefer a broad, rolling feel. Our introduction to Zumio covers the basics in more detail.
Using your Zumio
Hold Zumio at an angle, like a pen or a paintbrush, so the tip and stem both touch the skin. Start on the clitoral hood or nearby, not directly on the glans. Try light pressure first, then press a little more to slow the rotation. Move slowly and pause to find the spot that feels best.
Zumio and lube
You can use Zumio without lube, but a little water-based lube helps the tip glide. Zumio advises against silicone lube, as it could damage the tip material. Choose a thin, unscented formula from our range of water-based lubes.
Rotation, suction or vibration?
Rotation is different from both vibration and air-pulse suction. A vibrator spreads buzz across a wide area. A suction stimulator pulses air around the clitoris. Zumio touches one spot directly with a moving tip, so it feels closer to a finger. Fans of air-pulse clit suckers often find that Zumio adds a very different sensation.
Zumio with a partner
Zumio is slim enough to use during partnered sex. Hold it in place during penetration, or let your partner guide it while you show them how much pressure you like. Because it is quiet, it suits shared homes and late nights. Our first look at Zumio has more ideas.
Zumio for sensitive users
Some people find strong vibration overwhelming or numbing. Zumio was designed to touch a small area with gentle, steady movement instead. Start with the soft S or the E on a low speed, and keep the pressure light. You can rest the tip beside the clitoris rather than on it, then move closer as you warm up.
Edging with Zumio
Because pressure changes the feel instantly, Zumio is easy to use for edging. Build up slowly, then ease off the pressure as you get close. Wait a moment, then build again. Repeating this a few times can make the final climax feel stronger. Take your time and stop whenever you like.
Charging and battery life
Each Zumio charges by USB. Zumio says a full charge gives around two hours of play. Pressing harder and using higher speeds both use more power. Charge it fully before first use, and keep the charging contacts dry.

Caring for your Zumio
Wash the tip and body with warm water and mild soap after each use. Zumio is waterproof to about one metre, so you can rinse it under the tap. Dry it fully before charging. Fit the travel cap to protect the tip in a bag, and store it on its stand at home. Zumio offers a limited two-year warranty. Register your device on Zumio’s website to keep a record of your purchase.
Who Zumio suits — and who should look elsewhere
Zumio suits anyone who wants precise, controllable clitoral stimulation without broad vibration. It also suits people who find strong vibration numbing. Our Zumio review shares one reviewer’s experience.
It is not made for internal use, and it does not offer suction. Shoppers who want a wide, rumbly vibe can compare our other clit ticklers and clitoral sex toys.
Please read — safety first. Use water-based lube only, as Zumio says silicone lube can damage the tip. Start with light pressure and a low speed, as the rotation is very focused. Zumio is waterproof to about one metre, but keep it off the charger while wet. Stop if you feel pain, numbness or irritation. Hold it at an angle like a pen, never pressed hard straight down.
