Andrew Christian Mens Underwear Australia - Designer Male Briefs & Swimwear

Andrew Christian was the Hollywood men's underwear brand that made fit the main event. Designer Andrew Christian launched his clothing line in 1997 and moved into underwear in 2006. His Almost Naked pouch became the brand's best-loved design, holding everything forward and apart with no padding. Show-It added an internal cup that lifts the front, while later styles shaped the rear too. There were roomier pouches for well-endowed men, sporty gym cuts, fetish-inspired mesh jocks and a line made from recycled bottles. The brand was known for bold prints, cheeky campaigns and support for LGBTQ+ causes. After more than 25 years, it closed in December 2025. Every piece still in stock is part of the last run that will ever be made.

Why choose Andrew Christian

Andrew Christian made underwear engineered around fit, not just fabric. The Almost Naked pouch holds everything forward and apart, with no padding. Show-It lifts the front by up to 1.5 inches, while FlashLift shapes the rear as well. Trophy Boy gives well-endowed men a pouch that actually fits. The brand closed in December 2025, so every piece left is the last of its kind. Once current stock sells out, it will not be restocked.

About Andrew Christian

Designer Andrew Christian started his clothing line in 1997, selling fashion pieces through boutiques. The business later moved into sportswear and swimwear. Underwear came in 2006. In Christian's own words, that is when "things really took off". His Show-It and Flashback fit technologies turned plain briefs into shaping garments, and the brand grew into a global name in men's underwear.

For more than 25 years the brand stayed loud, cheeky and openly queer. Its campaigns starred models nicknamed the Trophy Boys, along with drag artists, dancers and adult performers. In June 2025, Christian announced he would retire and close the company. He cited cheap fast-fashion rivals and a climate in which large firms would not take on an LGBTQ+ brand. The final collection, Bespoke, dropped in October 2025, and the company closed on 2 December 2025.

Recognition and giving

Andrew Christian appeared on Inc. magazine's list of America's fastest-growing private companies from 2012 to 2015. The brand was also featured on RuPaul's Drag Race, Good Morning America and in The Wall Street Journal. Its campaigns were regular contenders in the Men and Underwear Awards for best underwear and swimwear campaign.

Giving was part of the story too. During the 2008 US election, the brand sold Obama-themed underwear and sent $1 from each pair to the campaign. Over the years it donated more than US$100,000 to causes including The Trevor Project, the Human Rights Campaign, ILGA-Europe, The Equality Project and Earthjustice.

Andrew Christian lines

Seven lines defined the brand, from the everyday Almost Naked pouch to the fetish-inspired FUKR. Each solved a different fit problem or suited a different night out.

Almost Naked: the signature pouch

Almost Naked was the brand's best-loved line. It uses a hang-free anatomical pouch with no cups, straps or padding. The pouch holds everything forward and apart from the thighs, so there is less sticking, sweating and adjusting through the day. Most pieces are ultra-soft microfibre. The feel is the selling point, as owners say it is like wearing nothing at all. Almost Naked later spread across boxers, jocks and the Vibe and Eco Collective lines. If you only try one Andrew Christian style, make it an Almost Naked brief from our men's briefs range.

Trophy Boy: built for hung guys

Trophy Boy was made for well-endowed men who find standard pouches too tight. It launched in 2015 with an oversized front pouch, set in a soft "snuggle pocket" similar to Almost Naked but roomier. The brand designed it to cut down on sticking, sweating and chafing. Look for the Trophy Boy label on the waistband and contrast stitching on the trim. It came in briefs, boxers and swimwear, and the name was a registered trademark. Trophy Boy was also the nickname for the brand's models, the faces of its campaigns.

Show-It: front enhancement

Show-It launched in 2006 and helped turn Andrew Christian into a global name. A horseshoe-shaped cup sits inside the pouch. It lifts and pushes everything forward, adding up to 1.5 inches to the front profile. There is no padding, so the shape comes from position, not bulk. Andrew Christian summed it up in his own words: "Size matters." Show-It suits men who want a fuller look under jeans or swimwear. It is among the most recognised pieces in men's lingerie, and many rivals have since copied the idea.

FlashLift: front and back

FlashLift built on Flashback, the brand's rear-lifting technology. Flashback arrived around 2008, promising to lift and round the buttocks with no padding, cups or straps. Instead, an invisible support structure in the seat shapes the rear. The brand claimed it added half an inch to an inch to the rear measurement. FlashLift paired that rear lift with the Show-It front cup in one garment. The result shapes both sides at once. It suits men who want a sculpted silhouette in tight trousers or swimwear.

Vibe: the sporty everyday line

Vibe was a limited-edition sporty range of boxers, briefs and jocks. Many pieces paired a low-cut, athletic look with the Almost Naked pouch. The Vibe Sports Boxer, for example, is 94% polyester and 6% elastane, with a branded elastic waistband. That blend stretches and dries faster than cotton, which suits the gym or a hot day. The cuts sit lower than a classic boxer brief. Choose Vibe if you want gym-ready underwear that still flatters, without the bolder detailing of FUKR.

FUKR: the fetish-inspired line

FUKR was the brand's most daring line. It started as a limited-edition collection in 2016 and leaned into fetishwear. Styles included the FUKR C-Ring Brief Jock, with a built-in ring, plus the Expose Brief, Net Brief, Sports Mesh Brief and Stud Jock. Expect black fabric, mesh, netting, studs and open backs. These are pieces for the club, a play party or the bedroom, rather than the office. If you like a harness look, browse them alongside our wider jockstraps range.

Eco Collective: recycled fabric

Eco Collective was one of the brand's last new lines, announced in January 2024. Its fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles, giving waste a second life. The brand describes it as lightweight, quick-drying and durable. Styles came as boxers, briefs and jocks, many with the Almost Naked pouch, in bright fuchsia and aqua. It shows the brand's later push to cut its carbon footprint. Pick Eco Collective if you want the Almost Naked fit with a lighter footprint.

Fabrics and fit

The brand used soft cotton, bamboo rayon, fine microfibre and antibacterial bamboo, alongside mesh and fishnet for bolder pieces. Waistbands were often slimming and deep, with narrower straps on jocks. Rear cuts ranged from full coverage through high-cut briefs to thongs and g-strings.

Fit was the real point of difference. Most underwear simply holds things in place. Andrew Christian pieces were built to position and shape, at the front with Show-It, at the back with Flashback, or both with FlashLift. The Almost Naked pouch did the opposite job, aiming for freedom rather than lift.

What the closure means for buyers

Andrew Christian closed its own website on 2 December 2025. There is no buyer and no plan to relaunch the brand, so no new styles or restocks will follow. Stock already with retailers is the last of it. That has two effects. Popular sizes in lines like Almost Naked and Show-It will sell out first and will not return. Limited pieces, such as FUKR and the final Bespoke collection, are also turning into collectors' items. If you have a favourite style, buy spares in your size now.

Choosing your first Andrew Christian

Start with what you want the underwear to do. For all-day comfort with no adjusting, choose Almost Naked. If standard pouches feel cramped, go for Trophy Boy. For a fuller look at the front, choose Show-It, or FlashLift if you want shape at the back as well. Gym-goers should look at Vibe. For a club night or play, FUKR is the line. If recycled fabric matters to you, choose Eco Collective.

Then check the size guide. The cuts are slim and tailored, and many men size up, especially in pouch-enhancing styles.

Who Andrew Christian suits — and who should look elsewhere

Andrew Christian suits men who want underwear to be seen, not hidden. It suits anyone who cares about pouch fit, front or rear shape, or bold prints and colours. It also suits fans of the brand who want to stock up before the last pieces go.

It is not for everyone. If you prefer loose, roomy boxers, the slim cuts will feel too snug. If you need sizes above XL, the range is limited. And if you want a brand that will restock your favourite style for years, this one has closed, so buy what you need now.

Before you buy. Andrew Christian cuts are tailored and slim, so check the size guide on each product page. Most styles run XS to XL, and some swimwear only S to L. Pouch-enhancing styles feel snug at first and settle with wear. For C-ring styles, remove the garment if you feel numbness, coldness or pain, and do not wear the ring for more than 30 minutes. Wash on a cool, gentle cycle and dry flat to protect the elastic and pouch shape. Stock is final, so popular sizes will not return once they sell.
