About TheraPump
TheraPump is an Australian brand built around one product: an electric penis pump with built-in red LED light. Its website says the design came from a doctor working in penis enlargement.
The THERAPUMP name is registered in the US and protected through an international filing from 2023. Our interview with a TheraPump executive covers how the brand describes its research and design.
TheraPump products by type
TheraPump has no sub-lines. Its range is one pump plus the parts to keep it running.
LED penis pump
The TheraPump LED Penis Pump is a rechargeable electric pump with a clear, graduated cylinder. Six strips hold 120 red LEDs that light the cylinder during use. Three preset modes run at 3.5, 4.5 and 6.6 PSI. A manual mode lets you stop at any reading on the digital gauge, up to 8.3 PSI. A quick-release button lets air back in at once.
Replacement parts
TheraPump sells spare parts so the pump can keep working for longer. These include a replacement cylinder, a replacement head unit with the motor and controls, a silicone donut seal and a USB-C charger. The silicone donut forms the airtight seal at the base of the cylinder. Replace it if it tears, stretches or stops sealing well. Check each part listing for fit.
How a penis pump works
A penis pump is a sealed cylinder that fits over the penis. Removing air from the cylinder creates gentle suction, which draws blood into the penis.
The effect is a temporary increase in fullness and firmness. Once the pressure is released, the penis gradually returns to its usual size.
Some people place a cock ring at the base after pumping to hold firmness for longer. Our cock rings collection covers rings designed for this, but limit wear to about 30 minutes.
What the red LEDs do
TheraPump's 120 red LEDs sit in strips along the cylinder and light up during a session. The brand promotes red light as part of its routine (brand statement).
Claims about red light and sexual health are still being studied. If you have a health concern, including erection problems, talk to your doctor rather than relying on any device.
Preset modes and manual control
The three preset modes build to 3.5, 4.5 or 6.6 PSI and hold there. This makes each session consistent without watching the gauge the whole time.
Manual mode lets you pump to any pressure on the display, up to a limit of 8.3 PSI. The quick-release button lets all the air out immediately.
Your first session
Trim or remove hair at the base so the seal sits flat. Apply a little water-based lube to the silicone donut and the base of the penis.
Start on Mode 1 and keep the session short. Increase time or pressure slowly over days or weeks, never all at once.
Our TheraPump penis pump review covers what to expect and how the brand suggests building up use.
Charging and care
TheraPump charges by USB-C and takes about three hours to fully charge. A full charge gives about an hour of use.
Wash the cylinder and silicone donut in warm, soapy water after each use, then dry fully. Never wash or submerge the head unit, as it holds the electronics.
Store the pump away from direct sun and heat. Check the donut regularly and replace it if it tears.
Electric or manual pumps?
Manual pumps use a hand bulb or trigger and give direct control, but pressure can vary. Electric pumps such as TheraPump hold set pressures and need no effort.
Our penis pumps and penis enlargement pumps collections cover both styles, from simple hand pumps to electric models.
How often to use it
The brand suggests building up to regular sessions over time. Rest days give tissue time to recover.
Keep each session short, especially at first. If you notice soreness the next day, take a break and drop back to a lower mode.
A simple log of mode and time helps you build up steadily. The graduated cylinder lets you note changes during a session, which return to normal afterwards.
Choosing the right lube
A good seal depends on a thin layer of lube between the donut and skin. Water-based lube works best and cleans off easily.
Avoid silicone lube on the silicone donut, as it can damage it over time. Our water-based lubes collection covers suitable options.

Who TheraPump suits, and who should look elsewhere
TheraPump suits men who want an electric pump with preset pressures, a digital gauge and replaceable parts. It also suits buyers who like to track sessions consistently.
Look elsewhere if you want a waterproof pump for the shower or bath, or a simple manual design. Anyone with a medical condition should talk to a doctor first.
Please read — safety first. Start on the lowest mode for short sessions. Stop at once and release the pressure if you feel pain, numbness, coldness or see red spots or bruising. Never exceed 8.3 PSI. Do not use a penis pump if you take blood thinners or have a bleeding or blood disorder without talking to your doctor first. Do not sleep while using it. Use water-based lube on the seal. Never wash or submerge the head unit. This information is general in nature and is not medical advice. If you have a health condition or ongoing discomfort, stop use and speak with a qualified health professional. |
