Channel 1 Releasing started in gay film. Its labels include Rascal Video, the studio of director and drag performer Chi Chi LaRue, along with Catalina Video, Dirk Yates and All Worlds Video. Rob Novinger was named as CEO in 2017, and Steven Walker as co-owner in 2023.

Sex toys grew out of the film business. Rascal Toys came first, then Boneyard launched in 2016, followed by VERS in 2023. For the 2018 XBIZ Awards, the company took a record nine nominations across its brands. Boneyard's Skwert was the best seller when the brand was shown to Australian retailers in 2016.

Boneyard is C1R's men's brand, launched in 2016 by Rob Reimer, who named it after the Neon Boneyard museum in Las Vegas. Its core is silicone cock rings. How Skwert changed douching
