Why choose LELO LELO helped change how sex toys look, with clean shapes that sit happily on a bedside table. It was among the first brands to switch from jelly rubber to body-safe silicone. Most models are rechargeable and waterproof, with quiet, deep-rumble motors. In 2024 it announced certification to ISO 3533:2021, the global sex toy safety standard. Its range covers almost every body and budget, from PicoBong to gold-plated editions.

About LELO
LELO began in Stockholm in 2003, when designers Eric Kalén and Carl Magnuson teamed up with engineer Filip Sedic. Their idea was simple: make a sex toy you would be happy to leave on display. The first product, LILY, was a small, sleek massager that looked more like a design object than an adult product. The team started with around 10 people and now employs more than 600 worldwide.
In our interview with LELO’s Chief Marketing Officer, Luka Matutinović explains that the brand sees itself as part of a self-care movement. He says LELO was among the first to swap jelly rubber for body-safe silicone. Later launches include ORA, a sex toy that mimics oral sex, the HEX condom and the app-based Lovebridge feature for partners in different places.
LELO brands and lines
LELO splits its main range into Femme and Homme collections, and runs these other brands and lines alongside them.
LELO Femme
LELO Femme is LELO’s collection for women. It groups the clitoral, G-spot and dual-stimulation designs, including Sona, Sila, Gigi, Mona, Soraya, Ina and Lily, along with Luna Beads for pelvic floor training. The pieces share soft curves, body-safe silicone and quiet, deep-rumble motors. If you shop by who the sex toy is for, Femme is the place to start for vulva owners.
LELO Homme
LELO Homme is LELO’s collection for men. It covers the prostate massagers Hugo, Loki, Loki Wave and Bruno, the Tor vibrating cock ring and the F1s app-connected masturbators. Like the Femme range, the pieces are body-safe silicone with flared bases on every anal design. Homme is aimed at men who want the same design standard LELO built its name on, rather than novelty shapes.
PicoBong
PicoBong is LELO’s playful, lower-priced brand. It uses the same body-safe silicone as LELO, but with bright colours, simple shapes and fun names such as Ako, Kaya, Moka, Mahana and Zizo. The range covers bullet vibrators, rabbits, couples’ vibrators, cock rings and the Remoji app-controlled line. It is a good first step for buyers who want LELO quality before spending more.
LELO Originals
LELO Originals brings several PicoBong shapes under the LELO name. Ako, Kaya, Moka, Mahana, Nea, Sona, Surfer and Lifeguard all appear as Originals, many in a firm version and a Soft version. The Soft models use a more yielding silicone for people who prefer a gentler feel. Originals keeps the colourful look of PicoBong at an entry-level price, with the LELO name and packaging.
Insignia
Insignia is LELO’s line of remote-controlled pleasure products. Many models use SenseMotion, a LELO feature that changes intensity as you tilt the remote. Our Lyla 2 review found the newer remote can switch the vibration off while the bullet stays on, fixing a complaint about the first version. The line also includes Lyla 2 and the Insignia remote-control body wand, both made for partner play.
HEX
HEX is LELO’s condom brand. Its condoms use a hexagonal pattern built into thin latex, designed so a small tear is less likely to spread. The range includes HEX Original and HEX Respect, a more textured version. HEX appears in LELO’s own retelling of its history as one of its biggest product launches, alongside LILY and ORA. Use HEX with water-based or silicone lube, never oil.
INTIMINA
INTIMINA is LELO’s sister brand for feminine care, held by LELOi AB. It makes menstrual cups, menstrual discs, Kegel trainers and feminine hygiene products. Its Lily Cup Compact was promoted as the world’s first collapsible menstrual cup, which folds flat into a small case. The brand is sold mainly through pharmacies and wellness retailers rather than adult stores, and it is not stocked as a sex toy line.
LELO categories
The main LELO range falls into eight groups.
Clitoral vibrators
LELO’s clitoral range runs from small lay-on vibrators to sonic massagers. Sona, Sila and Enigma use sonic waves, which pulse deep into the clitoris instead of sucking air like a pressure vibrator. DOT has an elliptical tip that moves in a loop. Lily, Nea, Siri and Alia are smaller lay-on shapes, and our Alia review praised Alia for staying quiet at full power.
G-spot vibrators
LELO’s G-spot vibrators have curved silicone shafts with broad, flattened tips. Gigi has a flat, angled head, and our Gigi 2 review measured about 10 cm of insertable length with 8 patterns. Mona has a stronger curve and a bulbous tip, while Mona Wave adds a come-hither motion. Like the best G-spot vibrators, they focus pressure on the front wall of the vagina.
Rabbit vibrators
LELO’s rabbit vibrators pair an internal shaft with an external arm for the clitoris. Soraya has separate motors in each arm, controlled independently, and Soraya Wave adds a beckoning motion to the shaft. Ina is a slimmer dual vibrator, with Thrust and Twist versions. Compared with many rabbit vibrators, the arms are firm and set wide to suit different body shapes.
Prostate massagers
LELO’s prostate massagers have curved silicone shafts and flared bases for safe anal play. Hugo has two motors and a remote. Loki Wave adds a beckoning motion and a second arm for the perineum, and Bruno has a rounded, ridged head. Enigma Double Sonic adds sonic waves to the prostate. Each of these prostate massagers presses on the prostate through the front wall of the rectum.
Kegel balls
Luna Beads are LELO’s Kegel balls, sold as a set of weighted silicone balls that let you increase the weight over time. Luna Beads Noir are smaller and heavier, suiting people with some pelvic floor strength already. Luna Smart Bead adds a sensor and app that guides your exercise. These Kegel balls work the muscles that support the bladder and vagina.
Couples’ vibrators and cock rings
LELO makes several designs for sex with a partner. Tiani is a C-shaped couples’ vibrator worn during sex, with a remote, and Tiani 24K is a gold-plated edition. Tor is a vibrating cock ring that also stimulates the partner’s clitoris. Ida and Oden are remote-controlled for couples who want to share control. Each one is rechargeable and made from the same body-safe silicone as the rest of the range.
Male masturbators
The F1s is LELO’s app-connected male masturbator, with sonic motors and sensors that record performance. The F1S V3 and V3 XL are later versions with more power and room. F2S is a stamina trainer with Kegel exercise features, according to LELO. The Remoji Blowhole adds a compact cup for quick sessions. Rinse each sleeve with warm water after use and let it air dry.
Body wands and bondage accessories
LELO’s Smart Wand 2 has a large, deep-rumble head for full-body massage and clitoral play. It sits beside the Switch and Insignia body wands, which take swap-on heads or a remote. For light bondage, LELO makes Sutra chainlink cuffs, Boa silk ties, a silk blindfold and the Sensua suede whip. They pair well with a wand for slow, teasing play.
The bestsellers
Our guide to LELO’s bestselling vibrators picks out the models customers come back to most. Soraya is the favourite dual vibrator, with separate motors for the shaft and the clitoral arm. Sona Cruise is a lower-cost way into sonic stimulation. Loki Wave is the pick for prostate play, and Gigi 2 is the classic G-spot shape. Luna Beads Noir suit people who already train their pelvic floor. At the top end, LELO has even made a 24-karat gold-plated vibrator, Inez.
Sonic waves versus suction
Many clitoral sex toys use air pressure, which pulls and releases against the skin. LELO’s Sona, Sila and Enigma use sonic waves instead. These send pulses deep into the clitoris, so the feel is more of a deep throb than a sucking sensation. Some people find sonic waves gentler on sensitive skin, while others prefer the sharper feel of air. Sona Cruise also has a feature that holds power steady when it is pressed harder, so the sensation does not fade.
Controls and app features
Most LELO sex toys use a simple three-button panel: power, up and down. A travel lock stops them switching on in a bag. Several models add SenseMotion, which lets you change the strength by tilting a remote. Newer models work with the LELO app, which can store patterns and let a partner take control from anywhere. For long-distance couples, Lovebridge lets two LELO sex toys respond to each other. If you prefer to keep things simple, every app model still works with its own buttons.

Choosing your first LELO
Start with where you want to feel it. For clitoral play, Sona Cruise or Sila is the easiest way to try sonic waves. For internal play, Gigi 2 has a gentle curve and a flat tip. If you want both at once, Soraya Wave covers the G-spot and clitoris together. For prostate play, start with Bruno or Loki Wave. Couples should look at Tiani or Tor. On a smaller budget, a PicoBong or LELO Originals model gives you the same silicone for less.
Who LELO suits — and who should look elsewhere
LELO suits buyers who want quiet motors, smooth silicone and a design that looks good on display. It also suits couples who want app or remote control, and anyone who values a recognised safety standard.
It is not the cheapest choice, so buyers on a tight budget may prefer PicoBong or another brand. People who want a very strong, buzzy wand may find LELO’s deep rumble too soft. Some reviewers also note small seams where silicone meets plastic, which sensitive users may feel.
Caring for your LELO
LELO silicone is non-porous, so it washes clean with warm water and mild soap or a sex toy cleaner. Dry each piece fully before storing it in its satin pouch, away from other sex toys that could mark the surface. Charge it every few months, even when it is not in use, as this keeps the battery healthy. The magnetic and USB chargers are model-specific, so keep the original cable with each one.
Please read — safety first. Use water-based lube, as silicone lube can damage silicone sex toys. Only use a sex toy with a flared base, such as Hugo or Loki Wave, for anal play. Charge with the supplied cable, and check the water rating before taking it into the bath. Start Kegel training with the lightest bead and keep sessions short. If you are pregnant, postpartum or have pelvic pain, see a health professional before using Kegel balls. With bondage cuffs or ties, agree on a safe word and keep scissors close by. This information is general in nature and is not medical advice. If you have a health condition or ongoing discomfort, stop use and speak with a qualified health professional. |
