Why You Really Need A Dildo

Sex Toy Guide Blog

Sex should be enjoyable, fun, creative, versatile and mind blowing. So, instead of relying on traditional sex, expand your horizons by exploring your body with a sex toy like a dildo. This article will go into depth about everything you have ever needed to know about dildos.

Where does the word dildo originate?

The beginnings of the word dildo is quite baffling. Interestingly enough, the dildo is widely recognized to have originated from the word diletto which is an Italian word for:

“a lady’s pleasure”

When were dildos first invented?

Dildos were one of the first sex toys types created. They were found as far back as 29, 000 BC in Hohle Fels Cave near Ulm in Germany. As science and technology has advanced over the years, almost every kind of adult lifestyle product that we use has been improved in some way but the humble Dildo has remained one of the most effective and reliable sex toys available.

What is a dildo?

A dildo is a type of sex toy with a phallic or non-phallic shape that is used to provide pleasurable stimulation to women and men. Dildos come in a large range of different shapes, colours, textures, sizes and materials. They range in sizes from as tiny as a finger to much larger than a human’s fist! The large range ensures that the fetishes and fantasies of a wide consumer preference is catered for.

Who can use a dildo?

There is nothing wrong with dildo play, dildos have been used for thousands of years by women and men of all sexualities. However, men can only use a dildo for anal play if it is made with a base.

What erogenous zones does the dildo stimulate?

A dildo can provide pleasure to a woman’s g-spot and a-spot, it can also provide pleasure to a man’s p-spot. Since dildos are made with varied shapes and sizes, they can reach spots that the average penis cannot which can give you an unbelievable pleasurable experience. Dildos can be used during mutual masturbation and foreplay to massage along different parts of the body including the clitoris, penis and scrotum.

Strap-on and harness compatible dildos can be worn around the waist and used on a lover for a penetrative experience. There are also dual ended dildos that can be used to pleasure the vagina and anus at the same time, some of them can be used by two people at the same time in a “see-saw” movement.

What materials are dildos made with?

Dildos can be made with an assortment of materials like silicone, surgical steel, glass, stone, wood, ABS hard plastic, TPE, TPR, genuine feel rubber and jelly. Unlike men, these sex toys always stay as hard as the material that they are made from. All these different kinds of materials have their own advantages and disadvantages. The best dildo material for you will depend on your own individual preferences. Sometimes it can take a bit of experimentation to find out what you really like.

Companies like Doc Johnson and Tantus have made dildo’s that have dual density layers which provide the feeling of realistic sex. Dildos with dual layers often have a hard inner layer of silicone and a soft outer layer of silicone. They are said to feel absolutely amazing especially when paired with a sex toys unique design and textures.

You can also find companies like BS Atelier in Madrid, LAID from Norway and Fun Factory in Germany who make their products from body safe and non-porous materials like pure silicone, glass and metal. To top that off, Fun Factory sex toys are made with even more functions including rolling massage balls.

Are dildos made with body safe materials?

When dildos were originally produced they were made with rubber and jelly that contained phthalates which are toxic to the body. Phthalates is a type of chemical used to make hard material soft, clear and flexible. With the knowledge that these materials were made with harsh chemicals, most adult lifestyle companies decided to only use materials that are body safe. But you will need to check whether the product you are planning on purchasing is body safe.

Are dildos safe?

Yes, dildos are definitely safe to use. There is no medical evidence to prove that dildos are harmful or have serious side effects to a person. The only thing we can guarantee you though, is that you will be addicted to them. The amount of pleasure obtained from these gadgets is unimaginable.

Why do some people like phallic dildos and some people like non-phallic dildos?

Some people love using a phallic dildos to replicate the feeling of realistic sex with a man whereas some people love the pleasurable stimulation of the ergonomic design of a non-phallic dildo that can be used for pinpoint stimulation.

Why are dildos not classified as a vibrator?

Dildos are generally used through the manual movement of a person’s hand, body or waist. They are not made with electrical features like added vibrations or pulsations which are features that are found in vibrators.

What are suction cups and harnesses used for on a dildo?

The main two features which are sort after when purchasing a dildo is whether it has a strong suction cup or whether it is harness compatible. A suction cup allows a person to use the sex toy for hands free stimulation, as it can be attached to a hard surface like tiles or inside a bathtub so that a person can use it as if it were a real erect penis. Whilst a dildo which is made to be compatible with a harness normally has a flat base which can be placed securely into a harness. A dildo with a harness allows a lover to wear it around their waist so that they are able to use it as if it were a part of their body for penetrative stimulation.

Where can I buy dildos?

Dildos can be bought by or for a person who loves the feeling of penetrative sex. If you are shy and a reserved person walking in to a sex shop and looking for a dildo can be a hard task. We would recommend you purchase a dildo at a sex toy shop online. This is the best option if you want a bit of privacy.

If you are buying a dildo made from a silicone mix it is advised that you go into an physical sex toy store so you can see whether the material has any manufacturing defaults like bubbles within the material.

How do you use a dildo?

Dildos actually do not come with instructions. The designers of these sex toys naturally assume that everyone understands how to be able use a dildo properly. But for first timers, it can be quite difficult especially if you do not know what to do! Here you will find some steps that you can follow to make your first time experience enjoyable:

Be prepared

The first thing you should do when using a dildo is be prepared so that you will be able to enjoy the experience. To do this you will need to:

  • Have your room set up so that you are comfortable.
  • Ensure the dildos you are using is clean.
  • Ensure that the dildo and personal lubricant is in an easy to access location.

If you are a woman you may need to use additional lubricant since they may not be able to produce enough natural lubrication for the experience. It is recommended to invest in a sex toy friendly lubricant like water-based lubricant.

If you are a man you will need to use lubricant as the anus does not produce natural lubrication. The anus will also soak up most of the lubricant so you will need to use plenty and relubricate well before it dries out. It is recommended that men invest in an anal lubricant that is specially made.

But you can’t just force the dildo in! You have to start somewhere and start slowly. Just like sex with a partner, your body should be ready and relaxed. Using a dildo is about experiencing a personal type of pleasure that is controlled by the user. Burn some aromatic candles, put some mood music on, lie back and relax. You can begin by naturally arousing yourself through masturbating or engaging in foreplay with a lover. When you are ready it will slide in gently almost on its own.

Slow and steady wins the race

Slowly slip a dildo inside, leave the dildo there for a moment and feel it gently stretch your body. When you are ready, control the speed and depth of the thrust to start off slowly and gradually increase it according to the amount of pleasure that you would like to experience. You will need to experiment to find what works for you.

Clean up afterwards

Sex toys need to be taken cleaned and taken care of.  It is recommended to use some antibacterial sex toy cleaner, mild soap and warm water to clean your dildo. Dry it thoroughly and store it in a dark place.

Now it is that easy so what are you waiting for?Save

Using Penis Plugs Safely!

Penis Plug Safety

Surfing the Net For Urethral Inserts

Browsing through internet sites for urethral plugs you will come across a multitude of styles, lengths and diameters and it can be quite daunting trying choose one – especially if you are a newbie.  Is it best to get a solid plug or a  hollow one that will allow you to pee thru it or cum whilst wearing it.  Perhaps the desired result is the exact opposite and you want a cum stopper plug that will impede the ability to ejaculate.  Each man is going to desire a different sensation and there is a insert that will help in achieving it.

Cock Plugs
Penis Plug Info

A tiny scratch or metal shard could have devastating effects when inserted into the urethra.  Start at the tip which is the first portion that will be inserted and work your way fully along the whole insertable shaft.  Take your time and do this each time you use them, it really is important.

When used correctly these providers of urethral sensations can give you great joy and sexual satisfaction but when used incorrectly can also provide extreme pain and suffering.  I know which one I choose so before using any Penis Plug, you should take time and read through some penis plug resource and information sites. This is very important especially because you will understand what should and shouldn’t be done. You should take this seriously especially if it is the first time you are using the device.

When you read these guides a lot of it will be common sense but trust me, you want to make sure that there is nothing you have missed out on about how to use them, how to care for them and what you may expect to experience.   The last thing you want is make a dramatic trip to the Emergency Room instead of experiencing the fabled ‘inside out’ cumming experience.

Cumming Inside Out Penis Plug Experience

So you have read up on how to use the plug and what to expect.  Next thing on the agenda is to sterilize it.  As it is going into the Urethra the plug must be completely free of any germs or bacteria and the best way to do this is place it in a pot of boiling water for 3-5 minutes.  This will ensure that your plug will come out squeaky clean.  Allow it to cool down and before use add some antibacterial personal lubricant.

If you do not happen to have a pot of boiling water available antibacterial sex toy wipes should do the trick or a liquid sterilizer like Methylated Spirit will suffice.  DO NOT use bleach or other cleanser that will cause you paid or discomfort.  Remember the urethra will absorb liquids and, seriously, you don’t want bleach going into your system.

After sterilization of your plug penis, it is recommended that the plug is wiped with alcohol swabs. Note that alcohol swabs alone might not guarantee the highest level of sterilization. You should not only pay attention to the plug, but also the penis. Using water and an anti-bacterial soap, wash your penis and hands. For extra caution, you may want to use gloves just to safeguard yourself. Don’t be in a rush, take your time and be cautious because it is very important.

To protect your organ from any injuries, use a sterile lubricant to smooth the walls so that the plug penis can slide in smoothly. While the lubricant helps in ensuring that the plug slides into place with ease and comfort, there a sterile formula ensures that you are guarded from any germs during this process. Be warned that non sterile lubricants should never be used, neither should you use saliva. It is just a matter of caution and ensuring that you don’t mess up your moment of joy by picking up an infection.

Finally, after use the penis plug, take time to sterilize the plug before storage. Keep it in a locked cabinet, free from children access. Resist the temptation of using the plug without having to sterilize it in future, assuming that they are still safe for use. Finally, don’t ever share a penis plug with anyone unless you are ready to share the infections as well.

So hopefully this has helped you out in your urethral sex toy journey!

True Beginners Guide to Penis Plugs!

First Time Penis Plug User

Choosing a penis plug  can be a bit daunting the first time but what is even more intimidating is when you take it home and you are ready to use it the first time.  A mixed wave of emotions comes over you as you anticipate in your mind what it is going to feel like that your bodies natural defense gives you phantom sensations.  Do I go through with it or was it just a silly idea?  One dreamed up by some marketer who knows nothing about the urethral joy you want to experience and is only interested in selling you a $30 or $40 piece of metal.

Well let us go a little way to allay those fear and go through a step by step tutorial on how to insert a penis plug that very first time.  First up, a penis plug or wand or medical sound in most cases is a piece of surgical steel that is inserted into the urethra that may, or may not, result in sexual stimulation and play.

Beginners Cock Plug
Choosing a Plug

Lets start off with saying your first attempt should be with a smooth, perhaps slightly tapered plug of no more than 100mm in length.  Do not listen to those that say it should be the slimmest size as this may cause a piercing that will be very painful and may require medical assistance.  A good safe thickness should be 4-8mm to start.  Now, for gods sake, purchase one from a reputable shop – do not look around the house for a knitting needle or screw or something else to insert into your urethra.  Look after your urethra, it is a very sensitive part of the body and if you do the things I am going to divulge to you now, it may also derive you great pleasures.

There are a multitude of different plugs in the market but you do not want to start with a silicone one, or a wavy one, or a dominating sound of over 200mm in length.  Lets keep it simple for the first time.  So we have adequately covered the basics, so lets get into the nitty gritty.

Coming From The Inside Out

You have heard all the wonderful things about cock plugs and the fabled ‘cumming from the inside out’ and your curiosity now has the better of you and it is time for you to experience this ‘holy grail’.  Well settle down a bit mister, a bit more work goes into it than purchasing the first plug you see and stuffing it down your cock that will make you reach your new sexual nirvana.  See perhaps you did not realize this but  those that have experienced this majestic sexual enlightenment are/were not newbies.  They took the time and effort to learn how to carry out their cock-stuffing in a safe and enjoyable manner first, and you must do too.  There are no short-cuts.

To achieve the incredible ‘cumming from the inside out’ you need to possess a hollow or cum thru or pee thru plug.  All three are the same thing but those are the most common names for it.  To cum you have to have a hollow tubed cock plug so that your semen can pass through.  The inside out feeling is created because the flow of semen whilst ejaculated is hindered by the narrow channel and so as you climax a small amount dribbles through the opening and the remaining backs up into your urethral canal.  The more you ejaculate, the more semen goes up your urethra, creating that inside out feeling.

BUT, unfortunately for you newbies it is my humble suggestion that you use a solid plug first.  The solid plug should have a stopper, safe bend or flare at the end to make sure that you do not put the whole thing up your urethra and then have to rush to the medical center to have it removed.  I have a couple of recommendations for beginners plugs but the Ask Men Starter Penis Plug I feel is the perfect starter and you can pick it up for a measly $20AUD.  The link is from adultsmart but you can try and find it online somewhere else if you wish.

Starter Cock Plug
Beginners Penis Plug

This plug is safe, especially for a newbie.  You will notice that the tip is rounded, no sharp edges and the plug is slightly tapered. The end is curved so you will never have a problem with it going all the way in.   The handle gives you greater control for bringing it in and out.  This to me is the perfect training plug as it cannot be inserted to deeply or to shallow.

So you have taken my advice and gone out online or to your local shop and purchased the Ask Men Starter Penis Plug and have unwrapped it, looking it and asking what now?  Don’t worry my friend I am not going to leave you in the lurch.  As promised here goes my step by step guide –

When you receive your product have a look at it, feel it to ensure that it is smooth, there are no irregularities or sharp bits on it.  Trust me you must do this as most penis plugs are hand-made and although it has never happened to me I have heard of someone inserting a penis plug and slicing their urinary tract.  You don’t want to explain that one to the doctor.  This step should be followed each and every time you use a plug (even one you have already used) as it may have dropped and a dint or ridge may also cause damage.

Once you have made sure that the plug is safe to use give it a wash using an antibacterial toy cleaner or placing the plug in boiling water.  This will be going inside you so it is essential to make sure it is sterile.

Say NO to Urinary Tract Infections!

If you placed it in boiling water let it cool down, although many people prefer to slip the penis plug in whilst it is still warm.

Bring out the lubricant.  Many urethral insert enthusiasts carry on about getting a Surgilube, or only use water based lubricant.  These are great lubricants don’t get me wrong but if you like extended play the urethra actually absorbs water so you will be regularly having to re-lube.  I personally use Superslyde which is a silicon lubricant, however many say that using silicon lubricant may cause a UTI.  It has not with me but it may with others, so I will allow you to make your judicious decision on that one.  However, to start with use the water based ones.

This to me is as important for a newbie as step one.  Put on some of your favorite beats, relax, do some gentle breathing, relax some more, have happy thoughts as you put some lube on, and if you can in the eye of your penis.  DO NOT FORCE IT.  If it does not go comfortably…relax, do some gentle breathing, relax some more, have happy thoughts….  Once your are lubed up lube up the insertible shaft of your plug…

Take it slow…. Did you hear me??? SLOWLY!!!! Slowly slide it down the eye of your pee hole.  If you have relaxed enough and you are doing it slowly it should slide in with no resistance and little or no discomfort. If you force it I almost guarantee you will never do it again and you will think that all of us that love this male sex toy play are nuts.  I got news for you, we are not nuts, and you are a chump for not following these steps that will addict you to this fantastic fetish.  I cannot stress this enough, if you experience resistance or it is feeling very uncomfortable STOP and .relax, do some gentle breathing, relax some more, have happy thoughts….

I liken this step is a bit like breaking your virginity and if you do it right the first time you will enjoy it and every time after that will be better and you can begin your urethral explorations.

Now you have inserted the plug into your urogenital canal, sounded professional I did then (pat on back whilst LOL).  You will be feeling aroused but probably have not got a full erection.  Starting very slowly begin to pull the plug out (if you have the Ask Men with the handle) and insert again slowly.  Do this, you can slowly pick up the pace, but being a first time user not too fast – you will have plenty of time to experiment at a later date.  Ensure that you are comfortable and experience no pain – for a novice user I would limit it to a maximum of 5 minutes.

Pleasurable Cock Play
Urethral Joy

Remove the plug, check your pee-hole, if you can, go to the toilet and urinate.  The first time you do some cock-stuffing there may be some spotting in your urine.  This is common so do not stress as long as there is no pain or discomfort.   Clean and sterilize your plug.

Now That Wasn’t So Bad Was It?

Whilst you were stroking the plug inside your urethra you will probably have achieved a full erection.  You would have felt extremely pleasurable and different sensations to normal sex.  After you have urinated you will probably want to jerk off as it has turned you on.  All those things are fine but you must give yourself at least 24 hours before you try more penis plug play – this is for your safety.

The next day you can try 7 minutes, and the next 9.  Slowly work yourself up to the level that you are most comfortable and enjoy the most.  My advice is not to expand your penis plug range for at least a few weeks and more prudently a month.  Then it is time for the fun to begin.

Try the different penis plugs, cock wands, medical sounds until you find the style that best suits you.  You may enjoy masturbating whilst a sound is inside your urethra, or getting a hollow plug with a glans ring that you can cum thru (inside out), some men like to wear them whilst they are having sex and other wear them for extended periods.   This fetish is very adaptable to you and your needs. there are heaps of different penis plugs on the market.  There are solid ones, cum-thru, smooth, corkscrew, tapered, double ended, stepped and more for you to discover. You can even use them with your trusted fleshlight sex toy.

So there you have it.  Always remember cost is not always everything with these type of intimate products and buy from a reputable store.  Saving yourself $10 or $15 and ending up at the local hospital is no saving at all.

Be safe and be well!

The A-Z Guide On Vegan Sex Aids

Tantus Tsunami Sex Toy Image

a person who does not eat or use animal products.

using or containing no animal products:

“a vegan diet”

Before I get into the fun stuff, I’ll just clarify some terms I’ll be using here like the difference between something that’s “Vegan” and something that is “Accidentally Vegan”. So if I refer to a product as being vegan then I mean the company has actually put “vegan” or “vegan friendly” on their packaging, and if I refer to something as “accidentally vegan” I mean that although it does not state it on the pack I can confirm that the item is indeed safe for vegans to use (like how Oreos are accidentally vegan … mmmm Oreos).

  • CF = Cruelty Free
  • V = Vegan
  • AV = Accidentally vegan

Being a vegan is easy once you know what is and isn’t vegan-friendly so here is a short guide to vegan safe materials, companies and products.

Vegan Materials

  • Silicone – Silicone is a personal favourite of mine, I love how it feels on my skin, it’s easy to clean (high-quality silicone is actually dishwasher safe, bleachable and boilable).
  • Leatherette & Synthetic Leather – Leatherette is a great alternative to leather which a similar feel and often being both vegan and accidentally vegan.
  • Metal & Glass – Both of these are safe vegan options and great for temperature play.
  • Faux Fur & Synthetic Wool – Many cuffs, paddles etc are lined with fur and is generally faux. Butt plug tails can occasionally be made of real fox/animal tails so please be aware of this when purchasing these items. Faux fur and real fur have very different feels and it’s usually very easy to tell the difference (google has some good guides on this).
  • ABS Plastic – Being made from oil and not being biodegradable this one is up to you, but as far as the material quality goes try and go for silicone if you can.
  • Satin – Satin or anything that is described as “silky” that isn’t real silk.
  • Rope – Rope is made from natural or synthetic fibres and will almost always be vegan, try hemp rope for something environmentally friendly and high quality!
  • Neoprene – Somewhere between leather and silicone this fabric is soft, easy to clean and best of all safe for vegans.
  • Polyester & Cotton – These are safe.

Non-Vegan Materials

(Some of these can possibly be vegan-friendly, it’s always best to double check.)

  • Leather & Suede – An obvious non-vegan material being made of animal skin.
  • Rubber – Some rubber is vegan some is not its always best to check if you can but more often than not it is vegan.
  • Latex – Another material that can be vegan but also can not as there is casein used in the process (this includes condoms) of some latex. A quick email to the company will answer your questions about a specific item of clothing or product.
  • Silk – Real silk is made from silk worms (occasionally other animals silk) so it’s something to avoid.

Some items that you may not have realised aren’t vegan include condoms, dental dams and lube. Read our complete guide to vegan condoms here.

  • WICKED – A range of water and silicone based lubes including a flavoured water based range, toy friendly and hypoallergenic options.  V, CF
  • Wildfire – 100% natural essential oil lubes, body oils and mood sprays ranges that are all vegan (their body butters, unfortunately, aren’t vegan). AV
  • Sensuva – With a wide range of products not all of them state vegan on the bottle (like their throat desensitizing spray) but potentially still vegan. V, AV, CF
  • Intimate Earth – Stating PURE VEGAN on their products but unfortunately without the CF stamp. V

All of these brands are available here at Oh Zone Adult Lifestyle Centres and at our online store, Adultsmart.

Most lubes are actually accidentally vegan but do not have the Cruelty Free (No animal testing) guarantee or confirmation that all those long lists of ingredients are vegan, feel free to email companies they usually get back to you and usually stuff is accidentally vegan.

Equipment and Toys

Black Rose Whipping Willow Sex Toy Image
Sex Toy: Black Rose Whipping Willow
  • Tantus – Tantus makes ultra high-quality silicone and are one of my favourite sex toy manufacturers, their silicone is 100% vegan-friendly and they make amazing paddles which you can read about here
  • Doc Johnson – A lot of the Doc Johnson leatherette product like their Whipping Willow Leatherette Flogger which will turn you into a flogging sex god and Black Rose range are vegan-friendly and even state “Vegan” on the box
  • Fetish Fantasy – I emailed Fetish Fantasy about their electro stim gel and they said it contains no animal products, a lot of their range is made of vegan-friendly materials including restraints and e-stim toys.
  • Fun Factory – All of Fun Factory Silicone is 100% vegan-friendly and their harness is denim and states vegan-friendly on the box.
  • California Exotics – A wide range of products a lot of them being made of metals and plastics are vegan-friendly but their new Her Royal harness range caught my eye stating vegan on the label and being absolutely gorgeous.
  • SportSheets – Making a lot of restraints, including the popular under-bed style of restraints, harnesses made of polyester, velcro, neoprene and other vegan safe materials.

This is by no means a comprehensive list but just something to get you started and give you an idea of what’s out there! PETA and Cruelty Free International are two of the biggest supporters who promote the use of vegan friendly products as they are not tested on animals!

Cock Ring Buyers Guide

UP! Spice It Up Double Action Couples Ring 1 Blue Cock Ring

Every couple likes to have an enjoyable sex life that is full of pleasure and ecstasy. Having an enjoyable sex life can help create a closer bond between two people and keep your lover asking for more. The memories alone of every sexual experience will keep you happy and full of joy but like every other pleasurable moments, there can be events that limit them. One is not reaching orgasm or a memory when there is difficulty to satisfy your partner.

Sex between a man and a woman or two men sometimes require a little helping hand. The man carrying out penetrative sex is often the major driving force in the sexual experience. Thought must go into how best they control the situation and improve the overall experience for the couple. Many men who have experienced some form of erectile dysfunction have opted to use cock rings to maintain longer and stronger erections. Others who do not have ED also use it for a better sexual experience for them and their partner.

What Are Cock Rings

What exactly are cock rings? A cock ring is also known as a erection rings or tension rings. Cock rings slow the flow of blood, naturally making a harder erection for a longer period of time. It is placed usually at the base of a penis when it is semi-erect. They are also worn below the shaft, on the scrotum or just below the head of the penis. There is no specific way of wearing them. Cock rings are made from a variety of materials such as silicon, leather, rubber, nylon, ivory and surgical steel.

Cock Ring History

Have you ever wondered when these sex toys for men came about? Surprisingly, they’ve been around for as long as you can imagine. They were first known to be used during the ancient Greek dynasty. They gained popularity during the Yang and Ming dynasty. They were used for sexual gratification until the Victorian dynasty changed the perception of cock rings. During the Victorian era, they were actually worn by young boys and men who believed they were capable of reducing sexual urges. The perception of cock rings changed until the late 1960’s, when they became popular again.

Beginners Guide to Choosing A Cock Ring

For most people wanting to buy their first cock ring selecting the best one for the optimum experience can be a little difficult with the huge amount of choice available. There are just so many options to choose from. So how do you decide which one is right for you?

You need to consider how stretchy they should. Those that are not stretchable are made of wood, steel, glass, ivory and aluminum. They have absolutely no flexibility and therefore are not advisable for use by a first timer. Cock rings that are not stretchable need to be bought in the correct size. In a situation where there is a full erection and the ring is too tight the blood cannot disgorge which is painful. At the same time you have to get the sizing right or it will not stay on, it may be too tight and uncomfortable to wear. Our advice for any beginner is to buy a stretchable one as most are one size fits all. When you wear the pleasure ring you can decide whether this is a male sex toy for you.

Another important factor to consider is texture. Many cock ring users enjoy not feeling the texture of cock rings while others do. Many cock rings are designed to have the texture of animals while others have little bumps which some users believe allow them improve their sexual drive. It is usually best to try out those that are completely smooth before attempting to go on an adventure with the bumpy ones.

Cock Ring Maintenance

Some cock rings are water compatible and should therefore be washed in warm, soapy water or cleaned with anti-bacterial spray. After they are cleaned, they should be dried and stored in a hygienically dry environment. Washing your cock ring after use will help anyone who has sensitive skin. If you are using the cock ring for a one time only experience, it is advisable to opt for those that are cheap and disposable.

Cock Ring Size & Comfort

Using cock rings should always be comfortable. It is not advisable to wear them for more than 30 minutes at any one time because wearing them longer than that can cause nerve damage and permanent numbness which will eventually lead to erectile dysfunction or penile damage. If you feel of any form of discomfort, pain, numbness or pains or needles, the ring should be immediately removed.

Cock Ring Types;

There are basically two types of cock rings. Those that are worn below the shaft just above the scrotum and those that are worn under the scrotum. Most other sophisticated ones are usually a combination of both. Below are a list of some cock rings we would recommend for beginners:

  • The Screaming O RingO:  The Screaming O RingO is stretchy, affordable, small and tight. They are quite easy to pull off if they are uncomfortable.

  • Tantus Super Soft Cock Ring: The Tantus Super Soft Cock Ring are made of silicone, non-odorous and nonporous. Since they are non porous they do not harbor bacteria and do not smell. This one is a little pricier.

  • Spartacus 3 Pack:  The Spartacus 3 Pack are rubber rings that give you different size options. The biggest ring is usually worn below the shaft. Depending on the size of the penis, the best fit can be chosen. The smaller cock rings also give you the option of having another just below the head. You can decide to wear two or even all three to find the right size for you! This definitely improves pleasure and is not too expensive.

  • Pro Sensual Adjustable Cock Ring: The Pro Sensual Adjustable Cock Ring happens to be one of the most popular styles. This is because the adjustable knob gives you the freedom and absolute control. You are able to loosen and tighten the cock ring at will. This makes it one of my top picks especially for those getting used to cock rings or trying it for the first time. It comes in a black and white variety.

These choices are all relatively inexpensive when you consider the enjoyment they may give you and increased sexual pleasure for your partner.   There are so many other models and styles that vary in design and price. Some cock rings come with a clitoral or anal stimulator that enables your partner achieve orgasm faster and last longer. The simulator helps to tickle the vulva or anus during sexual intercourse. Others make use of cock rings to achieve more pleasure during masturbation.

The more expensive ones are more common among experienced users of cock rings. Below is a list of Cock Rings for experienced users:

  • The Alloy Cock Ring: The Alloy Cock Ring is not elastic. The beautiful metal can adjust to the body temperature of the wearer and so the wearer absolutely forgets he is wearing one. The very smooth feeling allows it to be taken off and put on with so much ease.

  • Vibrator Cock Ring: Vibrating Cock Rings rank among one of the best cock rings to use as they help reduce the energy put into stimulating your partner while giving you more energy to enjoy a more fulfilling sexual experience. The vibrating pleasure ring will help you feel maximum sensations while you maintain an erection for a longer period. This way both you and your partner can reach a state of ecstasy far exceeding that without the use of a cock ring.
