A handmade silicone dildo, also called an artisan or hand-poured dildo, is cast piece by piece rather than on a factory line. BS Atelier is a Spanish workshop that pours every dildo and plug by hand, in bold colours and patterns no two of which match exactly.

Why choose BS Atelier BS Atelier is a small Spanish workshop, not a factory. Two Fine Arts graduates founded it in 2009, and every sex toy is still poured by hand. The silicone is soft and bouncy, and the brand says it is platinum-cured and can be boiled. Every GSpot has a flared base that fits a harness. The colours are the real draw: marbled, splattered and cow-print finishes that look like art on a shelf.

About BS Atelier
BS Atelier began with two artists. Beatriz Higón and Sabela Dopazo met in O.R.G.I.A, an art collective at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Valencia. The group worked on the body, gender and sexuality. With a third partner, Raquel, they spent around a year and a half on research and training before launching in 2009. The brand first traded as BS is nice, then became BS Atelier to reflect its workshop roots.
From the start, the founders called the company feminist and sex-positive. They wanted adult toys that felt friendly rather than intimidating, made slowly and without cutting corners. By 2013 their dildos and plugs were selling in Tokyo, New York, Berlin and Sydney. The brand has worked from a workshop in Madrid's La Latina and from a second workshop in Valencia.
BS Atelier product lines
BS Atelier keeps its range small and focused. These are its best-known shapes.
GSpot: the best-seller in three sizes
The GSpot is BS Atelier's best-selling shape, with the most sizes and colours. It has a gentle upward curve, a rounded head and a wide, flared base that fits a harness. The small is 14 cm long with 13 cm insertable. The medium is 16.5 cm with 15 cm insertable, and the large is 18.5 cm with 17 cm insertable and a 4 cm diameter. Colourways have included the cow-print Vacca, Green Apple, Tokyo and Paris. Among G-spot dildos, it is softer and squishier than most, which suits gentle pressure rather than a hard push.
G Spot Sport Tokyo: the GSpot in colour
The G Spot Sport Tokyo is the GSpot shape in a multi-coloured Tokyo finish. It looks as good on a shelf as it feels in use. It keeps the same upward curve for G-spot or P-spot play, and the flat, wide base works in a harness. It is waterproof and can be boiled to clean. Adultsmart's own reviewer also found the length reached the A-spot, the deeper area near the cervix.
Capsule: the shaped butt plug
Capsule is BS Atelier's sculpted butt plug, made by hand in its Madrid workshop. A tapered tip makes insertion easy, then the plug widens into a rounded capsule that gives a full, settled feeling. Depending on angle, it can press towards the prostate or the G-spot. There is no vibration: the shape does the work. Its wide capsule gives a fuller feel than slim, tapered butt plugs, so start with plenty of lube.
Nude, Alex and Twister: more BS Atelier shapes
Nude is BS Atelier's realistic model, and it was one of the first designs to sell well in the US. Alex is a medium-sized dildo that the founders recommend because it adapts to many preferences. Twister completes the shapes in the catalogue. All are poured in the same soft platinum silicone, with a flat base for harness play. Unlike most realistic dildos, which copy skin tones, Nude pairs a lifelike shape with BS Atelier's bold, hand-mixed colours.
Hand-poured, one at a time
Most silicone sex toys are injection-moulded in large runs. BS Atelier pours its silicone by hand, one piece at a time, and mixes the pigment as it goes. That is why two dildos from the same mould never look quite the same. Swirls, splatters and ombré fades land differently each time.
The finish matters as much as the shape. Reviewers have singled out paint-splatter, queer-flag, lime ombré and matte olive designs. Our own reviewer first spotted the cow-print Vacca GSpot across a dark shop floor and bought it on the spot. For the full story, read our hands-on BS Atelier GSpot review.
Why the silicone feels different
BS Atelier uses a single-density silicone that is noticeably soft and bouncy. You can curl a GSpot almost into a ring, yet it holds its curve during use. That softness makes it gentle on the way in and out, with no hard head to catch.
The trade-off is pressure. Very firm G-spot dildos press harder on the G-spot, while BS Atelier gives a softer, fuller feeling. Many people pair it with an external vibrator for blended orgasms. The longer sizes can also reach the A-spot, which some find leads to squirting. our guide to the A-spot and squirting explains where it is and how to find it.
Strap-on and harness play
Every GSpot has a wide, flat, flared base, so it sits securely in an O-ring harness. That makes BS Atelier a common choice for pegging and queer strap-on play. The soft silicone is forgiving for a receiving partner who is new to it.
Start with the small or medium GSpot and move up once you are comfortable. Its flat base slips through the O-ring found on most strap-on sex toys, so the dildo sits flush and does not tip during thrusting.
Materials and care
BS Atelier says its dildos and plugs are made from unadulterated, platinum-cured, medical-grade silicone. Silicone is non-porous, so it does not absorb fluids, and the brand says its sex toys can be boiled. Our reviewer also found it could go in the dishwasher.
The soft finish is a lint magnet. Dry it with a lint-free cloth, then keep it in the resealable bag it ships in. Use water-based lube only.

Choosing your first BS Atelier
For a first BS Atelier, choose the GSpot. Most people start with the medium, which offers 15 cm of insertable length. If you are new to insertion or pegging, the small is gentler. Choose the large only if you want A-spot depth and a 4 cm width.
For anal play, the Capsule offers fullness without a long shaft. If you want a lifelike look in bold colours, Nude is the one to choose.
Who BS Atelier suits — and who should look elsewhere
BS Atelier suits people who want a soft, handmade dildo that looks like art, and anyone building a strap-on kit. It is especially popular in queer and feminist circles.
Look elsewhere if you want firm, targeted G-spot pressure, as this silicone is deliberately soft. If you need vibration, BS Atelier dildos and plugs are solid silicone with no motor.
Please read — safety first. Use water-based lube only: silicone lube can damage silicone dildos and plugs. This soft silicone attracts lint, so dry it with a lint-free cloth and store it in its resealable bag. Wash before and after use with mild soap and warm water, or boil it, as the brand advises. For anal play, use only a dildo or plug with a flared base. Never move from anal to vaginal use without washing the dildo or changing the condom. Longer sizes can bump the cervix, so go slowly and stop at any sharp pain. This information is general in nature and is not medical advice. If you have a health condition or ongoing discomfort, stop use and speak with a qualified health professional. |
