  • Would you like to play a role in creating the best relationship, intimacy and sexuality education available?
  • Are you a parent of a young person who you’d like to have the best education?
  • Are you a young person between 12 and 16 who would like to do relationships really well?

Then please come to the free RISE Forum to contribute to the discussion.

RISE is an educational initiative working to provide young people with the knowledge, skills and resources to be able to navigate relationships, intimacy and sexuality in a safe, healthy, positive and enjoyable way.

As we all know, in adolescents there is nothing much more important than interpersonal relationships, especially the intimate ones! But where do we learn how to do relationships well?

Unfortunately our young people are starved of positive influences when it comes to relationships, intimacy and sex and they are gaining most of their education from internet porn. There is a crucial need for young people to receive guidance around these all important areas of life that is relevant, positive and is delivered in a way that they can relate to.

Our education system is limited and does not adequately prepare our young people for intimate relationships and focuses on a sex negative, abstinence model i.e. sex is dangerous, dirty and should be avoided. This approach sets young people up to fail and is proven to increase teenage pregnancy and STI transference.

And as parents, while it is important to have an open and positive dialogue with your children, lets face it, not many teenage kids want to talk to their parents about this stuff.

At RISE we understand that the foundation of all relationships is the relationship we have with our self and so that is where our work begins and ends.

RISE aims to help young people acquire and cultivate the self-awareness and confidence to enter into relationship from an empowered place. Using a sex positive approach, we will provide the facts to help them make positive choices about sex and relationships on their own terms. And we will equip them with the knowledge, skills and resources to engage in healthy, enjoyable and mutually respectful relationships, regardless of the level of intimacy they are ready to work with.

Areas of education RISE will provide:

  • Healthy communication
  • Boundaries and consent
  • Understanding sexuality
  • Sexual health
  • Embodied intuition
  • Emotional mastery
  • Conflict resolution

The RISE Forum is a conversation between parents, teenagers and professional educators to co-create an educational format that works and that young people want to attend.

The aim of the forum:

  • We want to know what you want to know.
  • We want to fully understand the unique perspectives, needs and desires of young people.
  • We want to hear the fears, challenges and desires of parents of young people.
  • We want to gain clarity on the most effective educational format.
  • We want to facilitate an open conversation and answer any questions that arise.

All attendees of the RISE Forum will get a 20% discount on the fee of the RISE program when released.

The RISE Forum is open to parents and their children between 12 and 16 years of age.

It is a FREE event and light refreshments will be provided.

The second hour of the evening will be for the young people only to give them a voice without the parents around.
