VIP Interview with William Garland who is the founder of the Doxy Massager.  In case you didn’t know what the Doxy Massager is, here’s a quick run down.

Tell me about yourself?

I was the one who came up with the idea to manufacture a plug-in wand massager in the UK about four years ago.  My name is William Garland and I had no previous experience in the sex toy industry. Waking up by the sea is my favourite thing.

What are your favourite quote’s that inspire you?

My Father once said to me “Use what you have got” and that works out well in most circumstances.

What are your favourite memories and moments from working in Doxy?

There are lots.  But a highlight was when I exhibited at our first trade show (the 2013 ETO Show in the UK) and started meeting others in the industry and took orders from retailers.

Doxy wand massagers are made to be some of the most powerful vibrators available. What inspired in the creation of your adult lifestyle company?

My girlfriend’s Hitachi Magic Wand had worn out and she wanted a new one.  But they were not easy to get hold of because they were only sold legally in the US.   So, I thought I would try making a version for the UK and European market.

How long did it take you to create the Doxy?

It was took a lot longer and was a lot harder than I thought it would be.  I found a partner who had a scaffold factory here in Cornwall.  We now make the Doxy products in this factory from scratch.  But we still have to import the motor and plug but everything else we either make ourselves or source locally.

We are the only company that manufactures a vibrating sex toy in the UK and there is a good reason for that.  It easier and cheaper to get sex toys made in China.

Doxy’s products are made to be strong and reliable. What inspired the choice of Polished Aluminium/Titantium Alloy for the Doxy Die Cast range?

Because we already cast scaffold parts at the factory it was easy for us to do (“use what you have got”).

What do you love most about your brand/s compared to other companies?

There are lots of popular sex toys brands.  But I do love the fact that we make the products ourselves in the UK.

Your company manufacturers its product’s in Cornwall in the United Kingdom. What are the benefits of your manufacturing location?

Main benefit from manufacturing in Cornwall is that we get to live in Cornwall, which is the most beautiful part of the UK.  And because we are literally screwing the products together ourselves, it means we are aware of any quality issues.

And when we do have a problem – it is easier to correct.

It is said that Doxy Massagers can reach up to 9,000 revolutions per minute. How would you describe the power of the Doxy Massagers?

They are ridiculously powerful – however, they are controllable and should be used on the lower speeds at first.

The Doxy Massagers are the only wand massager available with a controlled pulse setting. This means you can change the strength of the pulsations whilst changing the speed. How do you best describe what the pulse feels like?

I think there must be other wands with pulse settings.  Some people love the Doxy’s escalating pulse others prefer the simple constant vibration.  You really need to experiment and discover your preferences.

What areas of the body do you recommend using the Doxy Massager on?

The wand massager was originally developed as a back massager and is now known as a clitoral massager.   I would recommend trying the Doxy on the perineum area.  When used as a couples sex toy the power and depth of the vibration really comes into its own when both partners can feel the sensations together.

Do you have any secret tips and trick to get the most out of the Doxy Massager?

My tip would be to use your Doxy on the base of any dildo for powerful internal vibrations.   And a trick if ever need to clear your sinuses… just use your Doxy on the tip of your nose for a few seconds!

A Doxy 3 Bodywand Review

“Doxy is well known for their wands which are a strong competitor for the OG Hitachi Magic Wand. Today I’m going to talk about the Doxy massager, Doxy Die Cast and the doxy Number 3.

Original Doxy massager that retails for $275 is made from a PVC head and plastic body that comes in black, white, pink or purple. This claims to be the worlds most powerful mains operated massager wand.  Which I definitely agreed with until they released the Die Cast.

They started off great with a VERY deep and rumbly vibration that increases in intensity.

This is not for anyone who is sensitive in the clitoral area. 

Wands are made to cover more surface area than your regular vibrator and are designed to be much less pinpoint.

My only complaint about the Doxy and the Die Cast is the size.  We know that wands are obviously going to be bigger than other vibes but these wands measure a huge 13 inches long.

Although it is quite light, the size can make it sometime difficult to hold.

Doxy Die Cast, retailing for $390 is very similar to the original.

In my opinion, I think its a hair stronger in its vibrations, not much but there is definitely a difference.  Die Cast is made from a silicone head and a polished aluminium\titanium alloy body. It also measures at 13 inches, so the added weight from the body can be a disadvantage.

Although it looks great it can be a pain to hold.

But I’m not kidding when I say I’ve never felt a vibration like this. I know that I like deep and rumbly vibrations but this is next level.  If you like hard and fast this is the toy for you.  For me personally, I find it very easy to get off with the lower settings and no other toy has granted that.

All of the Doxy wands come with 3 button controls

An\off button, + button and a – button.  One of my favorite thongs is how easy it is to find the buttons while using it because they are HUGE.   There’s nothing worse than trying to turn your toy up a level and having to fiddle for the buttons.  Or worse, accidentally lowering the settings or turning it off. 

Doxy decided to change it up a bit creating the Doxy Number 3.

Retailing for $325 they finally made a smaller wand.

Not a lot smaller but hey anything is better.  Number 3 measures at 11 inches with a removable silicone head and an aluminium\titanium alloy body just like the Die Cast.

All of the Doxy wands are corded.  But they are very generous with their cords so it doesn’t really phase me. Number three includes a cord length of 3m.  I was very excited to see a lighter, smaller version. But was actually quite disappointed when trying.

I found the vibrations were buzzy and the head of the wand was rock hard and uncomfortable compared to the Doxy and Die Casts nice squishy heads.  Also I found Number 3 to be a lot more concentrated than the others, which in my opinion I didn’t like.It still has quite a large head but it felt a lot more pinpoint.

I absolutely love Doxy as a brand

And everything that they’ve done.  But the no. 3 just wasn’t for me. But I’ll never turn my back on my Doxy massager and Die Cast.
